DESCRIPTION

GENRE : Platformer - Adventure

Steam : Curyeux

CONSTRAINT

Create a platform game with 69 students in 15 weeks.

Create and separate level 3 for 3 students.

MAP 2D

LEVEL 3.2 - DESCENT INTO HELL

DEPARTURE INTENTIONS :

  • Level 3 is divided into three sections. The second section (3.2) is a very rapid descent that symbolizes the character's emotional decline.

  • The Mirage ingredient does not appear in this section. The Watchers are very present, creating a constant oppression on the character.

  • The objective is a large building visible before entering the section.

  • The Watchers constantly criticize the character upon entering the section.

  • A collectible is placed halfway through the section.

  • The character reaches the building and the Watchers remain silent.

  • After the building, progression is more difficult (the puzzles are more difficult).

LEVEL 3.2 - NEW VERSION OF THE MAP 2D

ITERATION :

  • Line of sight reduced for better performance.

  • Level 3 is too large, gameplay time reduced per section/Level Designer.

  • A giant statue will be the Landmark, and Section 2 (3.2) will revolve around it.

  • The Watchers are too visually aggressive, so their number is reduced to what is necessary.

  • Gameplay : Strong verticality to create a contrast with the previous section. A Watcher is placed here to remind us of the danger they represent.​

  • Narrative : Sudden emotional decline. The Watcher begin to criticize the character.

  • Gameplay : Teach and Practice for an upcoming challenge. The Watcher encourages to use only one eye, the platform cannot be stopped.

  • Gameplay : The player is encouraged to observe in order to progress.

  • Timelapse : Slight modification to make the area attractive.
